On March 7, 2025, ZStack Cloud officially released its new version, ZStack Cloud 5.3.20, covering a number of important features described in details below.

Highlights

  • Introduces CBD Primary Storage: Connects high-performance distributed block storage via the CBD interface and delivers storage services with high IOPS, low latency, and high reliability.
  • New OVS-DPDK Network Solution: Supports deploying a OVS-DPDK network architecture to achieve higher network performance and lower latency.
  • More Options in Application Market: Introduces ZStack Database Transmission Service (DTS) and System Operation and Maintenance (SysOM), enabling one-click deployment and simplifying operations for users.

New OVS-DPDK Network Solution

Supports an OVS-DPDK Network Architecture to Provide Network Services for VMs

ZStack Cloud 5.3.20 supports a new OVS-DPDK network architecture on the H84R ISO. You can add and manage SDN devices and resources including SDN controller, SDN instance, SDN image, and SDN instance offering.

With an SDN controller, you can create OVS-DPDK L2 networks, providing a high-performance and low-latency network for VM instances.

Simplifies the SR-IOV Configuration and L3 Networks can Directly Enable SR-IOV

Starting from ZStack Cloud 5.3.20, the L2 network has removed the SR-IOV network acceleration mode option. By default, if the physical NIC supports SR-IOV and has available VF NICs, all L3 networks associated with this physical NIC can directly enable SR-IOV.
